  • Compare multiple .jpg files?

    Hi folks,

I've got a little dilemma. I need to compare many multi-page .pdf's at once. In terms fo the data, no problem, as I can merge them using Adobe Acrobat XI and use the data compare function.

The issue I have is that the .pdf files also contain graphics and I ned to check those as well as ensuring that certain text hasn't dropped down a line etc.

My supposed method was to use a .pdf to .jpg converter, BUT I get single pages! My checking runs into thousands of pages potentially, so I need a quicker method.

    Can anyone help?
Is there a way of comparing multiple .jpg files?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello,

The Picture Compare can only compare a pair of jpg files. If you have thousands that have the same naming structure, you can use a Folder Compare. This will line up your files by name, then compare the date/timestamp by default. However, you can also enabled a Rules-based scan, which is like double clicking each pair of files and comparing them in the Picture Compare.

To scan everything, go to the Session menu -> Session Settings, Comparison tab. Leave Timestamp, Size, and Override enabled, then also enabled Rules-based scan. This will populate the center column between files with the rules-based results.

This assumes your PDF to JPG creation method will create files with the same name structure for the same pair of pages you want to compare.
