How is it that a file redable by Text Compare is unreadable by Hex Compare, even though it is small enough to fit into memory? E.g.

Does this reproduce if you attempt to Hex Compare the same files, or use a similar workflow? If you close the Text Compare and then re-open it, is it able to read your files still?

I haven't reproduced it on my system yet, so I was looking to limit the setup/configuration so I could get this to occur on my system.
