  • XLS compare on an OpenOffice created document fails

When trying to compare two XLS files that were created via OpenOffice, it returns two script errors (which displays the same dialog).

A blank XLS file that will also generate the error if you compare it to itself and click past the quick compare.

    Hello,

The Excel comparisons in Beyond Compare require a copy of Excel installed on the machine. Otherwise, you will need to save them as CSV or another delimited style.

We also have some OpenOffice file formats available here:
Beyond Compare is a multi-platform utility that combines directory compare and file compare functions in one package. Use it to manage source code, keep directories in sync, compare program output, etc.
