  • Excel Sheets in Separate Tabs

    Hi,

Would it be possible to have data comparisons for excel workbooks launch a separate tab for each corresponding worksheet? That is, assuming two workbooks to be compared have matching worksheet names, I'd like to see each one compared side-by-side in a different tab in BC3.

    Thanks,
    ojc

Multisheet comparison is on our Wishlist, but is not currently supported in BC3's Data Compare. To compare multiple sheets, you can use our Text Compare additional download:
Beyond Compare is a multi-platform utility that combines directory compare and file compare functions in one package. Use it to manage source code, keep directories in sync, compare program output, etc.

Alternatively, after installing that additional download, you can create a custom Data Compare file format that uses the same conversion process. This will not separate the data into separate tabs, but would throw all of your rows into a single large spreadsheet.
Here is a KB article discussing how to setup a custom External Conversion:
Beyond Compare is a multi-platform utility that combines directory compare and file compare functions in one package. Use it to manage source code, keep directories in sync, compare program output, etc.
