  • Data Compare - column names are not displayed

    Hi,

I'm currently using version 3.1.9. I'm doing comparison for excel files in Data Compare. For some reasons, the column names are not displayed for some of the excel files on the main comparison screen, but when I click on Rules/Columns....I can see all column names are listed on Left file and Right file columns, but not in Comparison column.

I know I could manually type in the column names by selecting "Edit" option. So my question is that is there any way that Beyond Compare can automatively detect all column names and display them on the mainscreen without manual step?

    Thanks

    Hello,

In the Format (select from the Tools menu -> File Formats, select specific format or default Data Compare near the bottom). On the Type tab, you can set the "First Line Contains" option. It sounds like it is not always detecting if the 1st row is cell data or column names. If it is always column names, you can manually set that here.

How does this work for you?
