  • Ignore first N bytes in hex compare

    Hi,

Is it possible to set up a hex file type where the first N bytes are considered "unimportant"? I have a hex file format that includes a timestamp and other metadata in the first 200 bytes, but I'd like to know which files in a directory have material differences.

    Thanks,
    Simon

    Hello,

Our Hex Compare does not currently support a method of marking specific bytes as unimportant. You'll have to format your files or trim them outside of BC3, then compare the temporarily created Compare.Files. I'll add your suggestion to our Customer Wishlist.

Do we have this feature available now?

Sorry, ignoring the first N bytes in the Hex Compare isn't available yet, it is still on the feature request list.
