How may I specificy that only text up to the second ';' is important?

Chris,

Define the text that you want important as a grammar item.
In the Importance tab of Session Settings, check to make that grammar item important. Below the list of grammar elements, uncheck "Everything Else" in the Default Text section.

This will make anything that isn't your defined grammar element unimportant.
