  • To use an external program to convert files into text for comparison

In BC2, I set a file conversion rules in

Options > Rules > File Comparison Rules > Edit > Conversion > External Conversion > Run when loading

In BC3, where can I do the similar setting?

    1. Select Tools -> File Formats.
    2. Click on the appropriate one and switch to its "Conversion" tab.
    3. Change the conversion to "External program".
    4. Type the command line in "Loading" and click "Save".

      Thanks for your information.

In BC2 there is an [Importance] tab on the rules editing form. Where can I find these items in BC3?

In the Text Compare, select Session -> Session Settings..., switch to the "Importance" page, and make sure only items that you want to treat as important are checked. Normally, the edit in the bottom left is set to "Use for this view only" which means that the changes you make will only be remembered if you save this Text Compare session. You can change it to "Update session defaults" which will use these settings for all new Text Compare sessions.
