Access Denied - Grey Save Button

I compared a file via a windows share for which I have read/execute access, but not write access (file is not read-only, but share permissions restrict my access). I copied changes from one side to the other, then clicked the Save button on the toolbar. I got a dialog saying "Access Denied" and the save button greyed out.

In my opinion, if access is denied and the file has not been saved, then the save button should not be greyed out as if the save was successful.
