  • Suggestion: Settings | Important | Edit Grammar

When I use this with "Use for this view only", the changes do not affect just this view but also others... becasue the changes are actually to a global file format.

I think this could be greatly clarified. At least "Edit Grammar" should be - e.g. relabelled "Edit file format".

Thanks for the suggestion. Edit Grammar is labeled as such because it takes you straight to the "Grammar" tab of the currently named File Format.

Any edits to a File Format are considered global. Use for this View only relates to the Session Settings dialog that displays it, and not to the File Formats dialog that is launched from the shortcut button.

If you need specific File Format edits, you will need to create a clone of your File Format, and then set it to be used manually in the Session Settings dialog.

I've added your notes to a general Wishlist entry for improving our File Format dialog and support.

      I guess that

Sure, but the dialog keeps the user in the dark on that.
