  • Output changes from one file only

Hello, I need to compare to 2 text files and then output the records that are different from the 2nd file to a new text file. I want to do this from the command line not the GUI. I don't want any other data in the new text file, no report name or time, no statistics, no separating characters, no line numbers just the records that are different. Is it possible to do this with Beyond Compare 3.1.11?

Sorry, it isn't possible to do this from a script.

In scripts you can use the "file-report" command to output differences to a file, but it will include differences from both files. The output file will also have a report name and some formatting.

Interactively, the only way to do this is to filter to only display the differences you want to see, then copy them to the clipboard and paste them into a new text file.
