EOF is not showing properly

When I compare two files BC shows a different eof.
Similar to http://www.scootersoftware.com/vbull...ead.php?t=4799

My hex editor shows no different last character on these files (bracket: 29).

Maybe it is a setting within BC.

Can any one explain me the red paragraph character in the attachment, what it is, how it's called (I didn't know exactly what to search for), how it gets there, what it means?
How will I tell BC to ignore this difference?
