Failure of Replacement match to show as Unimportant

This is really dependent on the current Alignment Details. If "\" aligns to "\30s\Loud\" then it should mark it as unimportant, but if the "\" aligns to a different section of text then it cannot perform the match.

I have copied and pasted the above text, typed manually from a previous screenshot, and have seen a couple of different alignments that show this. However, one of your earlier full screen screenshots in an earlier thread showed what looked like correct Alignment Details, but still marked it as important. I would like to get your exact files and current settings in order to try and reproduce that.

Oops, I retract my "that should be no impediment..." having just spotted that "/" is matching (black) ... but at the end of the Replacement text, not the start as I arrowed.

I have recorded my sending of a sample of the '0' unexpected alignment in the appropriate thread: http://www.scootersoftware.com/vbull...7&postcount=13

But, the 0's unepected alignment cannot be the cause of the problem reported in this thread, because as the picture shows, there is no unexpected alignment. ISTM there's nothing wrong expect the failure of the Replaced text to be marked unimportant.

So is this failure due to a separate bug, or what?

No, but I do see the slash as trailing rather than leading, and that (as you found in post #8 of http://www.scootersoftware.com/vbull...ead.php?t=7624) if R: is removed or replaced the replacement works as expected. I've documented this case and added it as an example where our intra-line alignment needs some improvement.

In the meantime, the best workaround we can offer is to use Unimportant text definitions. For your examples, it is always the text \30s\Loud that is different, only on one side, and that text phrase does not appear elsewhere in your file name. If defined as Unimportant text, then it will ignore that as a difference.

The report is of a failure of Unimportant, not a failure of alignment. There's no sign of failure of alignment.

So, is this Unimportant marking failure due to a bug, or what?

I don't know the exact cause the of the failure. But I have added it to our test cases to take a look at and try to figure it out.
