Have lines ingnored during text compare

i have 2 code files, one has comments in it and one doesn't

i have successfully made comments unimportant, but...

i need the compare engine totally ignore the lines starting with * so that it doesn't try to line real code up with a position that is a comment on the other side.

Lines to be completely ignored could also start with one or more tabs followed by a *

is there any way to define that a coment line should be completely ignored during a test compare?

the problem i am having is that the files are lines up wrong, some code with a long comment in the other file.

Are these comments currently coming up as blue text (or black text when Ignore Unimportant Differences is enabled) when you view your files?

The grammar definition should help 'nudge' the alignment a bit.

How large are the comment sections? You may need to increase the Skew Tolerance in the Text Compare Session menu -> Session Settings, Alignment tab to be larger if the comment section is sufficiently large.
