  • Feature: Align out of order

Leaving the left file unmodified I would like the option of manually aligning certain lines from the left file with certain lines on the right file as is currently done but I want the option to move them out of order. As shown below:

    LEFT RIGHT
    10. 1.
    11. 2.
    12. 3.
    5. 4.
    6. 5.
    7. 6.
    1. 7.
    2.
    3. 8.
    4. 9.
    10.
    8. 11.
    9.

    Hello,

In BC3, order is always important. You can use an external conversion to re-order one or both files, similar to this article here:
Beyond Compare is a multi-platform utility that combines directory compare and file compare functions in one package. Use it to manage source code, keep directories in sync, compare program output, etc.

Alternatively, you can select a section (or all) of the Left side, then Copy, then select some/all of the right side, then right click and Compare to Clipboard. Once both are open in the new tab, you can cut/paste around to move sections and lines around.
