  • how can i set the compare?

    Hello friends,

I've been trying to find a solution to my problem for several hours now. Namely the following I have a list that I want to translate. Each number is a vnum for a translation. That means there is a number → tabulator → translation. But the program sorts the numbers wrong, how can I set it so that it only compares up to the tabulator? Because otherwise he starts to compare wrong.. He should only compare up to the tab, the rest has to be translated anyway, or on the other hand the translation is for the vnmus but he arranges it wrong. I hope I was able to describe my problem.

    Hello,

By default, the Text Compare's alignment scans the entire line looking for similar information, and pushes the alignment up or down to line up lines it thinks should be compared. These options are configurable broadly in the Text Compare's Session menu -> Session Settings, Alignment tab. By default, it does not Sort the data, the Sort text file format exists and could alphabetize your lines.

The quicker solution may be to use the Table Compare. It looks like you have tab delimited data, and there is a Key column concept (col 1: vnum). If you open the files in the Table Compare, does it auto-detect the delimiter correctly, and is col1 (defaults to key) successfully the vnum and sorted/aligned by only that data?
The Key is a unique identifier, like an EmployeeID, and would be the only determining factor if two rows should align (with this configuration).
