  • Custom ignore pattern

    I have a source xml document that I frequently work with who's designer for this source xml is contstantly changing an attribute with a patter like name="name1234", where the number portion of the name changes anytime I touch the xml with the designer tool. I've also attached a screenshot.
    So, can I create a custom name pattern ignore somehow?

    Hello,

    BC3 can mark this a couple of ways. We could find and match on any text that is:
    "name\d+"

    or on the entire attribute name:
    name="name\d+"

    Any text included as part of the definition would also be considered unimportant; this would include the word name if it aligned to different text for some reason.

    We have a KB article and video available here:
    Beyond Compare is a multi-platform utility that combines directory compare and file compare functions in one package. Use it to manage source code, keep directories in sync, compare program output, etc.

    Please let us know if you have any questions.
