  • Comparing files that have quotes changed

I frequently compare files that have quotes either straight or curly, double or single changed to HTML Character Entities. I am wondering if there is a suggestion on how I should enter that as a single exclusion or if it is possible. Currently I am having a great deal of difficulty using the unimportant differences feature.

We have a general guide and Video walkthrough here:
Beyond Compare is a multi-platform utility that combines directory compare and file compare functions in one package. Use it to manage source code, keep directories in sync, compare program output, etc.

Instead of a single grammar element, I suggest multiple grammar elements with the same name. This way, the grammar itself is easy to define (such as, "), but with a single name, there is only one item to uncheck in the Importance tab. It could be named "Quotes", then uncheck it in the default list on the Home screen (Saved Sessions list, Edit session defaults folder, Text Compare default session, Importance tab).

Did you want to mark these types as changes as Unimportant, regardless of where they appear? Or only unimportant if they align to another specific character?
