  • Migrate/export+Import Preferences from v3 to v4 possible?

I am currently still using v3 of BC but want to switch to v4.

Therefore I want to keep all my preferences.

Can I simply copy the old

    BCPreferences.xml
    and
    BCState.xml

from v3 installation dir to the new v4 installation dir to have the old settings available in new v4 BC?

If not: Is there an alternative procedure to import old settings?

    Thank you
    Peter

Installing BC4 does not require you to uninstall BC3, so you can leave BC3 in place while also installing the BC4 trial to test it out. The only conflict is the Windows right-click shell extension menu: only BC3 or BC4's can exist, although you can control which by enabling one and disabling the other in BC3/BC4's Tools menu -> Options dialog: Startup section.

When you install BC4, it will also prompt to ask to Import all BC3 settings when you first run BC4. Be sure to read each dialog prompt, and answer Yes to the Import BC3 prompt to easily import all supported BC3 settings and preferences.
