  • How to copy from a sub-sub folder to a sub-folder?

After comparing I want to copy contents from

    [Right] X:\Folder1\Folder2\Folder3
    to :
    [Left] Y:\Folder1\Folder2

Is there an easy way to do that?

    Maybe... I should:
    - select and r-click all files in folder3 [Right]
    - then use 'Copy to Folder'

However, Beyond Compare regretfully does not automatically select the Left-folder (Folder2), that is to say: not with me.
Instead it selects some random drive letter and I need to click-browse-click-click... to select the left-Folder2.

Or maybe there is a better way?

    Thanks!

      Hello,

Copy To Folder's MRU remembers the last used paths, but doesn't auto-populate with info from the other side. You would have to manually edit the path, or prepare with a right-click -> Copy Filename on the destination folder (which copies the full path to that selected item).

You can also select the sub-sub-folder and the sub-folder, and rightclick -> Compare in New View. This will launch a new tab where those two items are then on the same level, and you can then perform the copy, then close the new tab.

        Aaron, thanks!
        Super.
The option as outlined in your last para is the most user-friendly one and works perfectly (of course)!
        Thank you again.

p.s. It isn't happening often, now I've got to remember that 'trick'..
