  • Issues with new find/search dialog dropdown

The new find/search dropdown dialog in build 16750 seems to have some issues.

The buttons on the right side of the dialog area (case, whole word, etc), do not change state when de-selecting them until the mouse moves off the button. This makes it very hard to see when you have actually managed to click and get them off.

Also, I couldn't figure out how to get the behaviors that used to be available in the "sides" section of the old dialog. The only behavior I could get seemed to be the "current side" behavior. How can you choose "both" or one specific side?

Finally, and maybe this unrelated and should be in a separate thread, I used to be able to select a single word to search for by double clicking on it, then clicking the find binoculars. Now when I double click on a word, I end up with the whole line selected. I can't seem to be able to do a cut selection with anything less than whole line resolution now in this release.

Did the support team see this yet?

Sorry, we've had a lot of new posts with the next wave of testers.

      1. Button highlighting - thanks for the heads up. We'll look into it.

      2. Both Side selection should be making its way back in. In the meantime, you can click the cursor onto a specific side, then Find on that side.

      3. For the double click selection of a word, this should work as expected. Do you have Edit mode disabled (Edit menu -> Full Edit)? If disabled, there is no cursor and the selection is the entire line.

        No worries. Thanks for responding!

Looks like the update flipped the setting on me. Put it back the way I've always had it and things behave as I expect again.
