  • Trouble forcing alignment of file/folder names

I'm trying to get a quick diff of a dev build of an application with the release version. I just wanted to quickly highlight the jars that are new.

In dev, all of the jars are built with the pattern <lib>-TRUNK-SNAPSHOT.jar
In the release, the jars have the pattern <lib>-5.0.0.1.jar

    See this screenshot: http://www.screencast.com/t/1CUUuZ0g

I tried to go in to the Rules and add an Alignment Override under the Misc tab for:
    *-TRUNK-SNAPSHOT.jar = *-5.0.0.1.jar

but it didn't align. I also tried limiting it to just ./lib/ but that didn't change anything.

I tried a refresh after making these changes.

Am I doing it wrong or is there a problem with the feature? Maybe because .jar files can be treated as folders when they are opened?

Thanks for the report. Your override looks correct and should work. I'll open a tracker entry to investigate this.

The alignment override bug you reported is fixed in Beyond Compare 4.4.4, now available on the Download page.
