  • git difftool --dir-diff not working (Windows 11?)

    I recently rebuilt my machine with Windows 11 and am setting up BC4 to use as my difftool. I had it working previously on Windows 10. When I set it up now and run it, it just quietly quits with no errors.

    Here is my config:
    Code:
    [diff]
        tool = bc
    [difftool]
        prompt = false
    [difftool "bc"]
        path = c:/Program Files/Beyond Compare 4/bcomp.exe
        trustexistcode = true
    Here is the command line I ran:
    git difftool --dir-diff develop

    Found that there was a local .git/config that was overriding my settings.

      Good catch. As a tip, I'll usually update my config with a /badpathto/bcompnot.exe, just to make sure I'm editing the right one.
