  • Inline Compare Mode

Hi guys, may I know if the beyond compare supports inline compare mode (like vscode)?

    Hello,

Do you mean like VS Code's ability to compare a selection to another selection? If so, yes. In BC4's Text Compare, you can highlight any section and Copy it. Then highlight the other section, right-click -> Compare section to clipboard.

A Text Compare also has an Open Clipboard command (Ctrl+Shift+V), and you 'paste' into either or both sides. BC4 also has a helper app, Clipboard Compare, that can run minimized in your system tray, and you can open it to view past clipboards and compare them.

If you are asking about calling BC4 from VS Code, I'm not aware of a way to call to any external diff tools yet; that's a VS Code feature request or using the VS Code marketplace, which may have some solutions.

Sorry, didn't say it clearly, what I'm asking is like below. Since sometimes the code is long, if use the split mode, have to scroll.Click image for larger version Name:	image.png Views:	0 Size:	44.0 KB ID:	88667

Ah, thanks for the screenshot. That helps. BC4 doesn't quite have a single pane view with inserted differences. The closest we have to that view mode is our Session menu -> Text Compare Report, Layout: Interleaved, which is this display but static (html (View in Browser), txt, or Print to: (PDF) output).

The View menu -> Line Details also shows a similar top/bottom layout as extra information at the bottom of the window. This can also include Alignment Details.
